A will is an important part of your estate plan.  A will a legal document in which a person states his or her wishes for the disposition of property at his or her death.  In your will you will name a personal representative or executor who will oversee the distribution of the assets of your estate when you pass away.   A Will is also the document in which you appoint a guardian of any minor children you have.  The will does not take effect until your death.  If you die with a will the personal representative or executor you nominate must probate your will.

If you have a revocable living trust you still need a will as part of your estate plan.
